Castle of Chamerolles

Between the Ile de France and the Loire valley country, the Chamerolles castle was built at the beginning of the XVIth century by Lancelot du Lac. It keeps the square form of a medieval fortress, with its four angle towers and the main tower with a drawbridge over its moat.

Its inside yard is more linked to the Renaissance style, with larger windows and colored bricks.

Behind the castle, the visitor finds a nice Renaissance style garden and a park with shady ornemental lakes.

Inside the main building, a museum dedicated to the perfume retraces the story of the hygiene and of the beauty from the XVIth century up today.
